Prof. Ian Manners Talked about “The EU's Normative Power: Ten Years After ”

Prof. Ian Manners from the Institute of Society and Globalization at Roskilde University, a well-known scholar of international relations, gave a talk on “The EU's Normative Power: Ten Years After ” in room 826, Wenke Building, on November 8. The distant lecture was given in the form of remote video from Keio University in Japan. Tsuda College in Japan, Fudan University in China, and Yonsei University in Korea were connected to the distant lecture. Nearly a hundred students participated the distant lecture.

The lecture was divided into four parts: the post-cold war era, what is normative power, the EU’s normative power after ten years, and enlightenment from the EU. He concluded that normative power is a target pursued by many countries, and the EU must become a normative actor.
